I first got involved with the Triratna Buddhist Community in London in 1995 and then with the Leeds Buddhist sangha in 2004 . I am inspired by nature and the outdoors and therefore particularly resonate with the Buddhafield community and all that they do. For the two years before I moved to Nepal I volunteered on the cooking team at Buddhafield North retreats giving me a taste of working as a team in a Buddhist context. I have been coming on Retreat to Taraloka since 2000, which is the same year that I asked for ordination. My practice is inspired by ritual ,art and nature. Before coming to Taraloka I was a supply teacher in Bradford for ten years and have recently come back from working for VSO(Voluntary Service Overseas) in a remote part of Nepal as a teacher trainer for the last two years. I have always wanted to live and work in a Buddhist community with women who are putting the Dharma into practice and feel privileged to have been given this opportunity as the cook manager.
