Metta, loving-kindness towards ourselves and others, lies at the heart of Buddhism. This retreat will focus on the Metta Bhavana meditation practice, exploring how it can help transform our emotional lives into ones consistently based on love, friendship and interconnectedness. This kindly attitude to ourselves and others helps us develop stability of heart and mind and be the quality we steer our lives by.
We will reflect on how metta can manifest as compassion, generosity and joy, helping us open our lives to greater meaning. The programme will also include body scan meditation, mindfulness meditation on the breath, talks, workshops, discussions, space for reflection and periods of silence.
