What would life be like, if we lived from a direct knowing of ourselves and others as ‘boundless’? We could dwell in a world of beauty, ease, and spontaneous appreciation. And we could live as a Bodhisattva – dedicated to awakening! - responding to life simply, generously and joyfully! It is possible. How wonderful!

This retreat is an invitation to open our hearts to the verses on the accumulation of the precious qualities of the Perfection of Wisdom: the Ratnaguṇa-saṃcayagāthā, a classic Perfection of Wisdom text.

In the beautiful setting of Taraloka retreat centre, we can let go of our too-often utilitarian and hectic ways of living and give way to life imbued with wisdom and aesthetic appreciation. We will unveil aspects of reality, infusing each with beauty, getting a glimpse, a delicious taste of this playful and spontaneous way of being. Through meditation, presentations, discussion groups, ritual, as well as experiential and non-conceptual ways of engaging, we will ease our way into the boundless nature of being and what it is to be a 21st century Bodhisattva, in the midst of our everyday lives.

This retreat will include several days of silence.

Paying for your retreat

Taraloka runs on generosity.

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee. This is the only charge made for coming on retreat. As far as possible, we don't want anyone's financial situation to stop them from coming to Taraloka.

At the end of your retreat, you have the opportunity to give money towards Taraloka. If you are able to donate, you are giving to another person who otherwise could not afford to come on retreat. And you are helping to give the gift of Taraloka to the women of the future.
