Open Dimensions of Being: the Three Myths and Meditation 2024

Friday, April 12, 2024 to Friday, April 19, 2024
Retreat Type:

What are we actually doing when we meditate?  Awareness and metta – are they qualities we grow in ourselves, like an acorn becoming an oak?  Or do we open up to them as ever-present in the universe, embodied in mythic Buddhas and bodhisattvas?  Or, through meditation, are we uncovering our essential blue-sky buddha nature?

These Three Myths of the spiritual life - self-development, self-surrender, and self-discovery - offer us three paradigm-shifts – three world-views that can open us into radical freedom.  What, for us, allows the open dimension of being to arise?  Intensive meditation retreat.

Suggested donation (in addition to the booking fee): £365 waged / £250 unwaged

Paying for your retreat

Taraloka runs on generosity.

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee.  This is the only charge made for coming on retreat. As far as possible, we don't want anyone's financial situation to stop them from coming to Taraloka.

At the end of your retreat, you have the opportunity to give money towards Taraloka.  If you are able to donate, you are giving to another person who otherwise could not afford to come on retreat.  And you are helping to give the gift of Taraloka to the women of the future.
