Seven Points for Training the Mind

Friday, November 2, 2018 to Friday, November 9, 2018
Retreat Team:
Retreat Type:

‘May I be the doctor and the nurse for all beings, until the world is cured. May I be food for the hungry, and wealth for the poor. May I be a protector for the unprotected, a guide for the lost, and a boat to the other shore. May I be a lamp for those who need light, and a bed for those who need rest. May I be a servant to all beings.’

The Seven Point Mind Training is a systematic way to develop the desire to awaken for the sake of all beings: bodhicitta. Another description of bodhicitta is the heart’s longing for freedom, or ‘the arising of ‘the will to enlightenment’ that we know from the puja. The mind training utilises all aspects of life for practice. Anything that happens in our lives and our experience can become a doorway into understanding the nature of reality or a ground for practising the Dharma for the benefit of all beings. This is a retreat for aspiring bodhisattvas!

Paying for your retreat

Taraloka runs on generosity.

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee.  This is the only charge made for coming on retreat. We want Taraloka retreats to be available to any woman, whatever her financial situation.

At the end of your retreat, you have the opportunity to give money towards Taraloka.  If you are able to donate, you are giving to another woman who otherwise could not afford to come on retreat.  And you are helping to give the gift of Taraloka to the women of the future.
