‘I had heard that there was an ocean-crosser, a hero, desiring the desireless...’ (Sutta Nipata 5:11:1)
Like a good sailor we must learn how to trust ourselves, our inner compass, in order to navigate the ocean of the Dharma. We will explore the qualities of confidence, intuition, adventure and play needed to creatively sail the path of freedom. There will be meditation and silence, writing, bodywork, ritual and time in the natural world.
Like a good sailor we must learn how to read the wind and waves of our being, and be able to trust our own inner compass. We need to recognise that we have the ability to sail out of the harbour and embark on the great ocean of the Dharma.
We will give time and attention to our relationship with our bodies as ‘barometers’. There will be meditation and silence, writing, ritual and time in the natural world. Engaging our imagination in this way, we can explore our resistances and our inspirations, and learn how to set our course and engage all of our energies – to sail the path of freedom.
